[solved]sasl/saslpasswd missing

I am trying to install postfix with sasl for smtp auth.

I added sasl to my use flags and emerged postfix.

I am not sure it if was there before or not but I found I had /etc/sasl2 directory.

It defaulted to pwcheck_method to pam.

I would like to use a separately maintained sasldb but there is no saslpasswd file on my system.

The search function for the online package database is missing so what package would have saslpasswd in it?

It looks like it installed cyrus-sasl

cyrus-sasl-2.1.22-r2

Someone also suggested Dovecot for POP3, and it appears there is a Dovecot SASL implemenation, has anyone used it and is there a package for it?

saslpasswd is provided by cyrus-sasl on my system:

dev-libs/cyrus-sasl (/usr/sbin/saslpasswd2)

Here are the flag i have used to compile cyrus-sasl:

dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.22-r2  USE="berkdb crypt gdbm pam ssl -authdaemond -java -kerberos -ldap -mysql -ntlm_unsupported_patch -postgres -sample -srp -urandom"

Oh it's saslpasswd2, the docs said nothing about that.
