|
|
I have several of these XPS boxes running Linux, and for some reason, after a perriod of time, they start to have write errors to the SATA HD. It is always something like it can't write to some block /dev/sda..
Code: | end_request: I/O error. /dev/sda, sector 12629139 |
The boxes will run fine for several days, and then the read/write errors will start and I am forced to do a hard reboot. After that, sometimes it will hang on the udev part, but after it rebbots, it will run fine for a few days. All three of these machines have these same errors. I have tried some other hard drives, but I still have the same problems. I also have these macines upto date on the lateest versions on the update mirros. Any ideas?

The are the basic SATA cables. At first they had 500 GB segate drives. I swapped the segate for a 80 GB Wester Digital SATA drive with the same problem.
I have three identical machies with this problem.
