I'm trying to use the multi-language support in Emacs. Specifically, I'm writing a document that contains a.o. Lithuanian and Hungarian text and that should be utf-8 encoded.
I want to use the Latin-4-postfix input method for the Lithuanian text, but here's my problem: the characters are not displayed correctly. If I describe the input method (C-h I RET latin-4-postfix RET), I get the following table:
Code: |
| postfix | examples
------------+---------+----------
acute | ' | a' -> á
circumflex | ^ | a^ -> â
diaeresis | " | a" -> ä
ogonek | ` | a` -> ±
macron | - | a- -> à
tilde | ~ | a~ -> ã
caron | ~ | c~ -> è
dot | ~ | e~ -> ì
cedilla | ` | k` -> ó g` -> »
stroke | / | d/ -> ð
nordic | / | a/ -> å e/ -> æ o/ -> ø
others | / | s/ -> ß n/ -> ¿ k/ -> ¢
|
Now, this can't possibly be right, can it? Where I expect an e with a dot (ė), I see an i with grave. An ogonek is also not shown correctly, etc. On the other hand, some characters do seem to be displayed correctly (d with a stroke, e.g.)
Any ideas what the problem is? And the solution? Thanks! _________________ If Bill Gates had a penny for each time Windows crashed...
