unresolved symbol preempt

hi there...

i just switched to gentoo, yesterday. now when i try to run the gentoo-kernel i get an "unresolved symbol preempt"-error when ever i try to load an module? i have enabled preempt in the kernel-config.

i used /usr/src/linux/kernel-config to feed my kernel-configuration - is this my mistake?

i also selected pentium4(gcc>31) as my prozessor.

when i don't activate the preempt-option everything runs fine!?!

anyone can PLEASE help me?
