it's perfect!! i love it!!
gnome2 is the shit!! it's so comfortable i could just cuddle up with it and get hacking right away!! so easy to use, no wonder it's number 1!! er... 2!
hehe, sorry. i make stupid jokes when im excited. i just waited bout 4 hours for galeon to emerge as i was unaware it would be forced to compile the old gnome 1.4 libs. bahhh!
oh well.
quick question! when did emerge -p alsa-drivers it said it would have to update the baselayout... why the hell??
look!
Code: | bash-2.05a# emerge -p alsa-driver
These are the packages that I would merge, in order.
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] sys-apps/baselayout-1.7.9-r1 to /
[ebuild N ] media-sound/alsa-driver-0.9.0_rc2 to / |
is it safe to force it to NOT update the baselayout (wouldnt that take for fucking ever?!) and if so, how would i do that? _________________ I used gentoo BEFORE it was cool. |

you might need it -- not sure. i already got that version of baselayout installed., but i'm using RC1 for alsa. i'd just wait for the final version of alsa to come out, but that's just me.
yeah, and that 1.4 shit popping up after you install Gnome 2 is annoying, but bearable, i suppose. _________________ [resident anime junkie] -- not just a linux freak. |

Gnome 2 still has a lot...... of catching up to do with KDE 3.
Gnome 2 does not have
1. Launch feedback
2.Abiltiy to close all grouped apps on task bar.
3. Menu config is clunky at best.
It does look nice though
