Ok, pcmcia-cs supports my wireless card, so i install pcmcia-cs and wireless-tools, get all the config files configured (i think). when i insert the card, i get a high beep and a low beep, so it found the card, but cant configure it.

This is what my log says when i insert the card:
Code:

Jun 24 01:47:18 [cardmgr] socket 0: Avaya World Card
Jun 24 01:47:18 [cardmgr] executing: 'modprobe orinoco_cs'
Jun 24 01:47:18 [kernel] orinoco_cs: RequestIRQ: Resource in use
Jun 24 01:47:19 [cardmgr] get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable

Just for reference, my card is a Avaya World Card, Silver its 802.11b

what do i need to configure or do? thanks for any information that can be provided.

Fuz

First of all, I have had nothing but trouble with the orinoco_cs driver...I'd suggest (if it'll work with your card's chipset, and you don't have an application where you need to have an ethx device) that you use the prism2_cs module and linux-wlan-ng.

Note: For anyone who wishes to comment, feel free, my experience may be a little colored because the orinoco_cs driver always gives me a screen full of 'Error -110: cannot write TX descriptor to BAP' (or something like that) messages.
