I've tried to emerge splashutils and I have the following error:

The problem was solved when I removed the "mng" flag. USE="-mng", and everything installed perfectly.

It may have installed perfectly but it will not work perfectly. the mng use flag is needed for animation to occur. Still waiting on a *proper* fix
