Hello
I wish to emerge only the client for postgresql and mysql. not the servers (that is running on other systems). Is there any easy way to do this? |

As far as I know, you emerge mysql as a client-server package. You have the option of not using the server, but it will be installed on the system anyway. |

Which clients are you talking about? The command line ones that come with the servers or some third-party client?
There is an official mysql client in a separate package called mysqlcc |

I'm talking about the command-line clients yes.
It's no big problem, just want to save space. Especially since I'm going to install both postgres and mysql.
I guess I could slam together a few clients in Python. |

There is abug about it, #12499. I've modified ebuilds for some packages to support a "server" USE flag, see http://linux.emulation64.com to get them. Please note that these are unoffical ebuilds, so don't report bugs associated with them on bugzilla. |
