Hi!
I tried to emerge KDevelop, but it requires kdbg-1.2.7.
When it compiles I get this error message:
Code:

mkdir .libs
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.2/libstdc++.la'
make[3]: *** [kdbg] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdbg-1.2.7/work/kdbg-1.2.7/kdbg'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdbg-1.2.7/work/kdbg-1.2.7/kdbg'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdbg-1.2.7/work/kdbg-1.2.7'
make: *** [all] Error 2

!!! ERROR: dev-util/kdbg-1.2.7 failed.
!!! Function kde_src_compile, Line 123, Exitcode 2
!!! died running emake, kde_src_compile:make

How do I change i686-pc-linux-gnu to i586?

if you mean your CHOST setting, that is done in /etc/make.conf
