CUPS + GS + no printer driver

me once again:
the following problem -- i want to use an hl1050 with cups.

I created (via web) the ppd-o-matic files with hl1250-driver (the suggested for the hl1050) and the laserjet4-driver (also works).
I installed both - the lj4-driver works ok , but the hl1250 driver prints only "Unknown device: hl1250". In the errorlog is nothing about this.

I think the hl1250 driver is not in gs7.05 (gs -h prints nothing about this driver) - but where is it or where to get it ? (i think in older 6.x-gs it was).

I also tried gimp-print laserjet4 drivers, but nothing is printed. In errorlog is written:
Unable to convert file 0 to printable format for job 1!

Either with cups 1.1.4 nor with 1.1.5 it works (read in older threads that is would be an cups-error).

Any ideas ?
