Hi i'm beggining in gentoo and i have a problem when i emerge some files.
now I try to emerge KPDF and some files are block

--------------------

sudo emerge kpdf -vp

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] media-libs/t1lib-5.0.2-r1 USE="X -doc" 1,658 kB
[ebuild N ] kde-base/kpdf-3.5.7-r3 USE="arts -debug -kdeenablefinal -xinerama" 0 kB
[blocks B ] =kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5* (is blocking kde-base/kpdf-3.5.7-r3)
[blocks B ] =kde-base/kpdf-3.5* (is blocking kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5.7-r3)

Total: 2 packages (2 new, 2 blocks), Size of downloads: 1,658 kB

--------------------

I looked up info about that but i did not find anything to solve me this problem.

I have all updated with emerge world but nothing happened.
What can i do?
Thank you very much.
Mariano

As indicated by theotherjoe, the reason for the blocks is that you are attempting to mix the monolithic and split KDE packages. This issue has already been discussed in the topic "Blockers in KDE 3.4.1", where it was summarized by Headrush; and it is also covered in The KDE Configuration HOWTO.

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads.
