Hi!
I've run into a problem while trying to install Iptables with emerge.

I've added all the necessary stuff with "make menuconfig" and compiled the kernel but (after reboot) emerge iptables gives me this error:

ERROR: net-firewall/iptables-1.4.0-r1 failed.
Call stack:
ebuild.sh, line 49: called src_compile
environment, line 2089: called die

The specific snippet of code:
emake COPT_FLAGS="${CFLAGS}" ${myconf} CC="$(tc-getCC)" || d...something

The die message:
failure

Have I missed to add an important option in kernel options (make menuconfig) ?

Is iptables 1.4.0 incompatible with the kernel I'm running (2.6.25 gento-r4) ?

I'm running Gentoo 2007.0 for the record.

The logs are quite big, should I really post them here?

Build.log or environment file?

the beginning of the environment file might be interesting:

Please post the output of emerge --info ; emerge --pretend --verbose net-firewall/iptables and the topmost build error. The errors you posted so far only tell us that it failed to compile, but do not provide any information about why it failed.

problem solved, apperantly my "headers" wasn´t updated.
Not easy for a n00b in gentoo to know >_<.

this command solved the problem: emerge -a1 linux-headers

thanks to my friend and for the people here paying attention and trying to solve the issue.
