Though this is not for any of my x86 boxes, but a search on google showed that this piece of hardware appears on x86 boxes as well:
Code: | Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 06 Lun: 00
Vendor: ESG-SHV Model: SCA HSBP M24 Rev: 1.0A
Type: Processor ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Anyone know what this SCSI device is, what does it do, and any Linux support for it? _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

i tried something really crazy to find out something about that mysterious string: i searched for it on google!
it seems to be a backplane. should have something to do with hotplugging.
chances are that you do not need a driver for that in linux, but use caution when you try something |

I didn't get much data about it from Google, most of them simply restated that it was what it said, or just dumping out because it was there to dump out. Yes, all the machines that I've seen this on are on machines with hotswap backplanes, so that's already a "known" unfortunately.
The thing I'm not sure about is that hotplugging SCA should not need an additional processor? Or is it simply additional control on power or something? And if it is, there should be some software support for it? _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
