Hi! I'm really fed up with firefox: it's very slow and I know it's because pango. I compiled it with USE flag moznopango, and as you can see
Code:
$ cat .bashrc
...
MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1
export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO
...
$ echo $MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO
1
$ cat /usr/bin/firefox
#!/bin/sh
#...
...
export MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1
exec /usr/libexec/mozilla-launcher "$@"

System knows I don't want pango with firefox (I can't unmerge it, it's necessary for others), but it's still slow. Don't know what else to do... please help!

By the way, I use a x86 AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ and I cannot install plugins (Shockwave, Flash...)! They say they're not compatible yet with my arch. This makes many webs impossible to view. As anyone experienced this yet? What did you do? Thank you!

Moved from Networking & Security to Duplicate Threads, refer to topic "USE="moznopango" with firefox, does it work?".
