Hiho,

On an amd64 system using kdm, the X server forks a second X process like this:
Code:

26519 tty7     SLs+   0:03  \_ /usr/bin/X -br -nolisten tcp :0 vt7 -auth /var/run/xauth/A:0-U52fMp
26526 tty7     SL+    0:00  |   \_ /usr/bin/X -br -nolisten tcp :0 vt7 -auth /var/run/xauth/A:0-U52fMp
26520 ?        S      0:00  \_ -:0
26528 ?        S      0:00      \_ /usr/kde/3.5/bin/kdm_greet

It doesn't do that on my x86 system with the same configuration. Is this normal behaviour on amd64 or is it some kind of misconfiguration?
Do any amd64 users experience the same?

thx...
