|
|
Not sure what happened here, not sure where to start either...
My key bindings stopped working when i was doing an 'emerge system' or 'emerge world' (not sure which one actually did it) ...
My ~/.fluxbox/keys goes as follows:
Code: | OnDesktop Mouse1 :HideMenus
OnDesktop Mouse2 :WorkspaceMenu
OnDesktop Mouse3 :RootMenu
OnDesktop Mouse4 :NextWorkspace
OnDesktop Mouse5 :PrevWorkspace
Mod1 Tab :NextWindow
Mod1 Shift Tab :PrevWindow
Mod4 r :ExecCommand fbrun
Mod4 t :ExecCommand aterm
Mod4 l :ExecCommand /home/orion/.fluxbox/scripts/lock |
...Now that I think of it, Alt + Tab works (Mod1 Tab), as well as all of the OnDesktop commands ...perhaps this is a keymapping issue.
Mod4 should = Windows Key.
/etc/conf.d/keymaps looks as follows:
Code: | # /etc/conf.d/keymaps
# Use KEYMAP to specify the default console keymap. There is a complete tree
# of keymaps in /usr/share/keymaps to choose from.
KEYMAP="us"
# Should we first load the 'windowkeys' console keymap? Most x86 users will
# say "yes" here. Note that non-x86 users should leave it as "no".
SET_WINDOWKEYS="yes"
# The maps to load for extended keyboards. Most users will leave this as is.
EXTENDED_KEYMAPS=""
#EXTENDED_KEYMAPS="backspace keypad euro"
# Tell dumpkeys(1) to interpret character action codes to be
# from the specified character set.
# This only matters if you set UNICODE="yes" in /etc/rc.conf.
# For a list of valid sets, run `dumpkeys --help`
DUMPKEYS_CHARSET="" |
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

Try using "Super" in place of Mod4. I've always used Super without problems. Googling around I see some other people with problems using Mod4 after some update or another.
Also, I don't think /etc/conf.d/keymaps has any bearing on X's keyboard settings, it's just for the consoles. |

You could try running xev and hitting your windows keys in the xev window. The console output should tell you what X, and therefore fluxbox, thinks the keys are called.
On my system, for another possible solution, the windows keys are called "Super_L" and "Super_R". Fluxbox is supposed to map Super and Meta to Mod4, so maybe "Super_L" and "Super_R" confused it. |

Bah, crazy... tried using Super_L, which is what xev gave me when I pressed my windows keys (Super_R for right side, of course) ..and now I notice that I have to press the windows key, once, let off of it, and then press the corresponding key to get a response... Isn't this strange?
Any other ideas? |

Are you using the win key as a keychain somewhere??? _________________ Knute

Well then, what happens if you move you ~/.fluxbox folder somewhere else and restart X?
Does the win key still exhibit this behavior??? _________________ Knute
