Cups doesn't like me!

I have been using cups with my usb printer (HP Deskjet 832c)...it was working fine. Then yadda yadda yadda...my dad turns off the comp and when I turn it back on the printer is screwed up royally! I "emerge -C cups" then "emerge cups" not only did that not do anything...but it put back an old printer that I was trying to configure. BTW I'm doing this all through the web interface. I've gotten rid of the other printer....now I just can't remember how to get it to work. I'm almost certain I was using it set on "USB Printer #1" but cups doesn't see it there.

I really need to print...my dad says to reinstall the driver...those damn windows users!
