printer driver

hi boys,
i wanna write a printer support for my epson epl-5700l since it doesnt have support for linux ;-)

But i have to make a rev enigeeniering cos epson didnt release its protocol and this crapy printer cant be emulated !! :-(

So, where do I start? First, according to Rogier Wolff, I should 'sniff' the protocol with Wine and the windoez' printer driver.. how can I do it? /dev/usb/lp0 ?
