Hi all. I'd be greatful for any suggestions on how to fix my problem. I did an emerge world after about a week of not updating, and now I've lost my USB mouse in X (KDE). I really have no idea what to look for. The USB optical mouse still works fine on a different pc. lsusb shows the mouse fine as it did before:
Code: | root# lsusb | grep -i mouse
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 413c:3010 Dell Computer Corp. Optical Wheel Mouse |
And there's no error messages in the /var/log/messages nor /var/log/Xorg.log. Here's the relevant lines from the latter:
Code: | root# grep -in mouse /var/log/Xorg.0.log
22:(**) |-->Input Device "USB Mouse"
23:(**) Option "AllowMouseOpenFail" "true"
130:(==) |-->Input Device "Serial Mouse"

I know the linux creedo goes something like "don't reinstall, fix", but since there are several annoying "challenges" on my install right now, I'm really tempted just to reinstall to get past this (and to make it a stable install instead of testing this time). I'd mich rather fix it though, if there's a way .
I tried re-emerging x11-drivers/xf86-input-mouse because during the big update it has been upgraded from 1.2.2 to 1.2.2-r1. Made no difference.
thanks |
