Just recently tried to update gentoo and I'm having problems emerging net-tools

I'm running
Code:
emerge -uDv world

Everything is fine until it gets to net-tools upon which I get the following error:

Code:

Any idea what my problem is? Also, is there a way to tell emerge world to skip a package if you don't want to update it for some reason? For instance, I wanted to update all other packages besides net-tools, but emerge always crapped out at net-tools and won't continue on to the rest of the packages, leaving me to manually update them all.

You haven't actually posted the error that caused the compile to fail, we need nore output.

However, after the compile fails you can use `emerge --skipfirst --resume` to continue the emerges, skipping the one that just failed.

As long nothing depends explicitly on this particular version of net-tools, it should allow the rest of the emerges to complete will you try to figure out what the hell is wrong here.

Ah, you got hit by the expat upgrade.

Read this: "Upgrade to expat-2.0.x needs revdep-rebuild", then revdep-rebuild.
