|
|
Code: |
# emerge -p x11-libs/libX11
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild U ] sys-apps/man-1.6e-r3 [1.6-r1]
[ebuild U ] x11-libs/libX11-1.1.2-r1 [1.0.1-r1] USE="-xcb%"
[ebuild N ] x11-proto/xproto-7.0.10 USE="-debug"
[blocks B ] >=x11-proto/xproto-7.0.6 (is blocking x11-libs/libX11-1.0.1-r1)

From a noob, a question about how blocking works. Above is one of two blockers on my system as I try to update to 2007.0. I asked an earlier question related to this, but was way off the mark in what I thought was going on. From what I've been able to glean from the forum, the above emerge output means that libX11 will be updated to libX11-1.1.2-r1. If that is the case, why is there a blocker on libX11-1.0.1-r1? It's going to be updated to libX11-1.1.2-r1.
Any help greatly appreciated. _________________ regards,

The emerge output says that xproto-7.0.10 will be installed, but instead of it being an update of xproto-7.0.6, it is new?
Confused. _________________ regards,
