Pure-ftpd muore

E' un po'..anzi da sempre che ho sto problema con gentoo e non riesco a capire che succeda...faccio partire pure-ftpd dopo aver configurato il file di config ecc ecc....il servizio parte e funziona benissimo..come voglio io con le opzioni che ho messo io...ma dopo alcuni giorni che è su...inspiegabilmente muore e lo devo "zappare" e restartarlo...qualcuno ha avuto per caso lo stesso problema?

Cosa dicono i log? C'e' qualche core dump?
