after I updated the openssl to 0.9.7, I used 'revdep-rebuild' to repair the system dependencies. After that I found the emerge behaves abnormal, and finally found the world file is 0 byte. How could I rebuild the world file?
Thanks. |

Hmm. If you haven't cleaned out /usr/portage/distfiles/ then maybe you could rebuild it using those packages? Write some script to find out which subdir of /usr/portage/ the package comes from and add it to world? Of course then you'd have all of those dependencies directly in world also. Hope you like bash (or awk or perl) scripting. Or maybe there's an easier way. Just thinking. Maybe grep it out of /var/log/emerge.log? Interesting problem. I now know one more file I need to back up.
Sorry, not much help. Maybe someone else knows an easy way. |

Use "regenworld" as root to rebuild your world file. _________________ - Exner (Antony Suter) |
