Hi I have never come across this problem before.
Just done a fresh install on a acer laptop , When i boot up the machine I seem to get this message.
Code: | The dma on your hard disk seems to be turned of |
Does anyone no how I could turn this on ??????

Hi there, try this:
/etc/init.d/hdparm start
That should get your DMA working.
