Hello labba,

Code:
dmake:  Error: -- gperf: No such file or directory

You should perhaps emerge gperf .

And, if that does work, please file a "missing dependency" bug against openoffice to help the devs stabilize it. :)

I've got sort of the same thing, however I've got gperf installed:

Code:

regmerge ../../../unxlngx6.pro/lib/pyuno_regcomp.rdb / ../../../unxlngx6.pro/lib/uno_types.rdb /var/tmp/portage/app-office/openoffice-2.3.0/work/ooo/build/OOG680_m5/solver/680/unxlngx6.pro/bin/pyuno_services.rdb

I noticed that I didn't have dev-java/sax installed so I emerged that (version 2.2.1-r2) but that didn't help; still get the same error.

Any ideas?

Alright, I will emerge gperf and try again...

Meanwhile someone else already filed a bug about that problem: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192937

After emerging gperf manually, it compiled perfectly.

I couldnt compile 2.3.0 also. If gperf is a dependency shouldnt developers add this rule on the ebuild or not? :?

Hwoarang, have a look at the link I posted above. This bug is already fixed, but the new ebuild isn't in portage yet...

I got the same error you did after installing gperf, so I installed sax and am giving it a go. I'll see if that does the trick, but my X2 4200+ isn't nearly as fast as your quad (you do have WANT_MP="true" set, don't you?) so it'll take a bit.

Update: I installed sax and it gave me the same "sax needs to be rebuilt" error that you got. I suppose I'll wait until the updated ebuild comes out.

I got the same "sax needs to be rebuilt" error however after I set WANT_MP back to false the build was successful. :D

I got the ebuild to build (finally) after following gentoo.gentoo's advice and installing all of those extra programs. I didn't have to disable WANT_MP but I don't think MP was working as I pretty much just saw one core doing all of the work and my build time was about 1.5-1.8x as long as it took to build 2.2.x.
