after going through some of the old posts, i continue to have the same problem when installing kde.
i type in, emerge kde-base/kde, it does it's thing for a while then this message comes up:

I've run the install about 4 times now and the same thing always pops up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

well, i seem to have solved the problem.. i think
i realized that it stalled on the first part of the installation so i just ran:
emerge xfree
and that seemed to have done the trick.
it installed fine and i'm currently still installing the rest of kde |

 I have tried that (emerge xfree) and (emerge --update xfree) several times already, still dies with the same errors above |
