Can anyone clue me in as to why the version of app-emacs/tramp is so old? The ebuild is tagged as from April of last year, but development has continued since then with the last release from April of this year.
The latest versions are hosted at: http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/tramp/ |

my guess would be that nobody is maintaining the ebuild, perhaps a good time to create a new version?

That's pretty much what I thought, but figured I'd ask first, being a "n00b" and all.
app-emacs/tramp seems like a relatively harmless way to attempt my first ebuild.
I can't imagine that anyone is actively waiting on this, but I'll try to get an ebuild into the bug system by the weekend. After all, how hard can an ebuild be? |

I've done my best with an ebuild for this and submitted it to the bugs system. Hope someone finds this useful. Oh, and if this breaks your emacs, why on earth were you installing a package from a n00b?
The bug containing the ebuild is: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22380 |
