Why can't I post anything?
We are currently performing the database upgrade and UTF-8 conversion so we are providing a read-only copy of the forums. During this time you will not be able to make any posts, send Private Messages or register new accounts.
Where can I go with my problem?
If your question isn't already answered on the forums there are several other places you can go for help. There are various topic and language specific IRC channels and mailing lists that you can use. The main support IRC channel is #gentoo on irc.freenode.net and the main support mailing list is gentoo-user@gentoo.org.
Why can't I log in after the upgrade?
If you have any non-standard characters in your username or password you may experience problems logging in after the upgrade. Although the usernames will be converted to UTF-8 we have identified a handful of problematic ones, we will contact you by email if this is the case. As the passwords are encrypted in the database there is no way to convert them so you will have to request a new one.
I've got another problem with my forums account
If you've got any other problems send us an email to forum-mods@gentoo.org or pop into #gentoo-forums on freenode, note that these are not places for support problems. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |
