Si quelqu'un a une idée ça serait sympa de m'aider. Ca fait presque un an que j'utilise cette distribution que je trouve fantastique. D'habitude j'arrive à corriger les erreurs mais la je vois vraiment pas.

Pourrais-tu faire un eix vlc ? juste pour voir les USE plus facilement (parce que là faut regarder ton emerge --info et ton package.use et faire le tri)
Sinon, as-tu essayé de virer vlc complètement pour le réinstaller? (bon je dis ça, j'ai lu un certains bug qui nécessitait cette manip', mais là ton cas semble bien différent)

Là je vois pas. 
Autoconf qui merdoit... soit c'est le config.in qui foire (donc c'est le paquet vlc qui a un problème, mais dans ce cas là tu ne serais pas un cas isolé), soit c'ets autoconf qui foire. Tu peux réinstaller autoconf dans le doute: emerge =sys-devel/autoconf-2.13 =sys-devel/autoconf-2.61

Il est donc possible que ce soit une question de version d'automake ou autoconf.
Cet article semble décrire exactement le même problème. Le dernier post suggère de mettre divers outils à jour.
Pour gentoo, cela se résumerait à mon avis à utiliser la version "testing" de autoconf (2.61-r1), |

C'est louche parce que chez moi cette même version de vlc est installé et je n'ai pas d'autoconf en version testing.

Je suis en train de compiler vlc-0.8.6c avec autoconf-2.61 (stable) et c'est vrai que ça passe sans problème
La vérité est sans doute ailleurs...
[EDIT] aucun prob non plus avec autoconf-2.61-r1 ! |

J'ai mis à jour autoconf en version testing et malheureusement cela fait toujours même chose.
Par contre dans le lien il y avait ces logiciels la de mentionné:
- Autoconf version 2.60 or later
- Automake version 1.9 or later
- gettext version 0.11.5 or later
- pkg-config
- libgcrypt 1.2 (or compatible)
J'ai (re)emergé chacun de ces paquets et la vlc compile parfaitement. 
Au passage ca m'a réglé un autre problème de compilation avec libao, c'est génial.
