Hello!

Here is my make.conf (partial)
Code:
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium-m -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"

When I do an emerge gnome-light, virtual/libstdc++-3.3 has a dependency on gcc-3.3.6-r1 (which does not support the -march option given in my make.conf).
(I saw it in the build.log below). I tried anyway to compile it, but get the following error:
Code:
emake failed with bootstrap-lean

Part of the build.log (I can give the full, but it will take some place...)
Code:
cc1: error: bad value (pentium-m) for -march= switch
cc1: error: bad value (pentium-m) for -mcpu= switch

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

Thanks!!

instead of letting virtual/libstdc++ install an old gcc, force it to install the compatibiltiy layer for a new gcc:
Code:

emerge -1  sys-libs/libstdc++-v3

Then try again.

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Portage & Programming.
Not about getting gentoo installed, so moved here.

Thanks it works!
(I have posted this in installing gentoo, because it happened while I was installing it! But doesn't matter now since the problem is solved!)
