hello,
The graphics acceleration on my Gentoo system doesn't work.
I have an ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] (rev 01).
I set up the drivers myself but I didn't know what I was doing. Then I installed Ubuntu on my computer and graphics acceleration works on it.
So the problem must be a mistake of mine.
I've tried many times to fix the problem (mostly researching) but to no avail.
I am really lost.
My modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 contains the following entries:
via-agp
drm
radeon
svgalib_helper
Can someone help me?
regards,
Alex |

What about the working xorg.conf from your Ubuntu installation? Did you try it? Also have a close look at the loaded kernel modules when running Ubuntu... would you not need agpgart too? Let us see your xorg.conf and some log stuff!

What KTA said.
Also, make sure you have VIDEO_CARDS="radeon" in /etc/make.conf (and if you don't, you should update world so mesa is rebuilt and the xf86 ati driver package is pulled in). _________________ "You have to invite me in" |
