My audio doesn't work :(

I configured it with http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml

# rc-config restart alsasound
Restarting init script
* WARNING: you are stopping a boot service.

# lspci -v | grep -i audio
00:02.7 Multimedia audio controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] AC'97 Sound Controller (rev a0)

enabled in Menuconfig:

alsaconf gives:

intel8x0 Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] AC'97 Sound Controller (rev

I selected intel8x0

Now ALSA is ready to use.
For adjustment of volumes, use your favorite mixer.

Have a lot of fun!

On my system, the headphone jack sense, line jack sense, and microphone jack sense all report MM, not 00. When I set the headphone jack sense to 00, the audio stops. Try setting it to 'MM'
