Hi, i have problem again. I installed gentoo /from minimal cd gentoo 2007, stage 3/. After reboot my gentoo run in init 3, and i cant configure my grub.conf, i dont see anything in my /boot folder. When i want edit my grub.conf i must boot gentoo 2007 installation cd and make chroot.
It is possible??
Of course i work like root.

If you don't see anything in your boot folder, it's probably because your boot partition is not mounted. If you followed the gentoo handbook, it tells you to create separete partitions for / and /boot. You need to manually mount your device each time you want access to the /boot partition or add it to /etc/fstab to mount it automatically at boot time. Mine was /dev/sdb1, so i just typed #mount /dev/sdb1 /boot. Adapt to your own situation as needed. |

1./dev/hdc2 /boot ext2 noauto,noatime 1 2
2./dev/hdc6 / ext3 noatime 0 1
3./dev/hdc5 none swap sw 0 0
4./dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom audo noauto,ro 0 0
5.shm /dev/shm tmpfs nodev,nosuid,noexec 0 0
6.proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
I think, that i must change 1.row.
1./dev/hdc2 /boot ext2 noatime 1 2
Have i true?? |

If your /boot partition is really on /dev/hdc2 and has ext2 filesystem type, it should work. At least my fstab is configured like that...
edit:
no I'm wrong. remove "noauto". this command forces you to mount /dev/hdc2 manually. Remove it and fstab will mount it. |
