Hallo zusammen!
Ich hab diese Woche mal wieder neu installiert (ich auf eine andere Festplatte umziehen musste) und habe nun folgendes Problem: Ich benutze KDE 3.1.2 auf XFree 4.3. Als normaler Benutzer kann ich von der KDE-Konsole (und auch aus dem Xterm) Programme starten, die einen X-Server benötigen. Sobald ich jedoch mit "sudo" zu root werde und dann aus der Konsole ein solches Programm aufrufen will (einfaches Beispiel: make xconfig oder auch sowas wie kedit), dann bekomme ich foldenden Fehler:

kedit: cannot connect to X server :0.0

Ich hab zwar schon hier im Forum gesucht, aber ich bin relativ ratlos, zumal ich bei der letzten Installation keine Probleme hatte... Weiß jemand von euch, woran das liegen könnte? Irgendwie nervts...

P.S.: Ich hab gerade festgestellt, wenn ich KDE-Menü auf ausführen gehe und dort sage, ich möchtre das Programm als root ausführen, dann läufts. Mir wäre es aber doch lieber, wenn das auch aus dem Xterm klappen würde, immer ins Menü gehen ist nicht so das Wahre.. |

gib einfach als user im Terminal "xhost +" ein und mach
dann ein "su". |

rate ihm doch bitte nicht sowas. xhost ist gefährlich. er will wenn dann xauth verwenden.

Ich benutz die von MasterOfMAgic empfohlene Methode, also die Sache mit xauth. Und welche X-Programm ich als root ausführen will ist auch recht einfach zu beantworten: Hauptsächlich "make xconfig" zum Kernel-konfigurieren, ich mag menuconfig net so wirklich...
