Hi,
Just wondering. Why does mm-sources use "-O2" and not "-O3" like the 2.4.x kernels? Is it because the kernel is getting too big or what gives? _________________ regards,

AFAIK the vanilla kernels all use -O2.
Possibly the gentoo folks changed the Makefile for some of the performance-oriented kernels to -O3.
And yes, the 2.5 series gives significantly larger kernel images, even without that extra bit of optimization. _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |
