XFCE4 and automount?

How do I get XFCE4 to automount data CDs and DVDs? Currently, I'm still having to mount it as root, and I need it to be automounted without having to do this, as I'm configuring this laptop for non techno-geeks.

eix thunar-volman, fyi it doesn't work with exo 0.5 or thunar 1.1.0 (masked last I checked)
