I've been trying to compile grub-1.95, however: the compilation fails with the error "get lzo > 1.02". Well, i have 2.02-r1 installed, under /usr/lib64. I noticed that emerge grub-1.95 gives --libdir=/lib32 to configure, where no lzo is installed... Now, what do i do???
Is there a way for me to emerge lzo under /lib32? Or any other solutions?
PS: The reason i'm trying to emerge the latest version of grub is, i get error code 21 on boot --which might've it's origins in jmicron controller. If someone knows another way around this, without getting the highly experimental version of grub, it's another story of course. |

Sweetie,
You must download grub from the site or svn.Untar it.
Then you must run"
./configure
make
make install
in its directory.
Portage ebuild is broken- it uses "econf" and "emake".Econf can not find lzo lib. _________________ "Dear Enemy: may the Lord hate you and all your kind, may you be turned orange in hue, and may your head fall off at an awkward moment."
