Quite a lot of the current Linux distros come with a preinstalled default look for them (ubuntu/mandriva/etc).
Gentoo is probably one of the few distros that has quite a lot art for it, why is that, that there is no default look?

Even if u can change it afterwords, it will be good to see during gtk install or when u first boot to kde, that u are using a very specific distro and not a newly made 3rd class distro. Having a default look for gnome and kde is neighter hard to make, nor does take a lot of hdd/resources...

so what do u say having something like this on the next release?

Like everything else in Gentoo, its look is what you make it. There is no official look because you have so many choices.

There is a branding useflag, wich will, for example change the splash screen of Gnome to a Gentoo version of it. I think nothing else should be forced upon the users. Most Gentoo users use Gentoo because it doesn't force you to use stuff like this.

Moved from Gentoo Chat to Duplicate Threads.

See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-529836.html

Would have been merged in post times didn't conflict.
