Which is the best file-sharing client? I'm using Limewire but I wonder if there is something better.

Well Apollon is pretty good since it allows you to use the Gnutella, FastTrack, OpenFT, and Ares networks although it has not been saving my completed files recently. If you want big files a BitTorrent client is probly what you want I suggest KTorrent or Rufus, some people prefer Azureus.

Is there another app that can search all of those networks that doesn't require the KDE libs?

Sure Giftoxic and Giftui are GTK frontends and giftcurs is a ncurses frontend.

I have hated BitTorrent a very long time (because I didn't know how to use it), but then I tried BitTornado, which made me fall in love with BT immediately. Its download rates are simply amazing! So go for it!

A GTK giFT client sounds perfect, but giftoxic does this:

grant@system4 ~ $ giFToxic
Segmentation fault
grant@system4 ~ $

and giftui compilation fails with an extremelly long list of errors. Any idea on this? How does BitTorrent do in comparison to a giFT client? I'm looking for music.

If you're serious into bittorrent and want to manage uploads without manually having to restart them, try Azureus: it is everything but light like BitTornado, but it has many more features.

Oh and thanks for the apollon mention, I'll check that one out later today.
