Hey everybody.

I recently let battle.net auto-patch to 1.02 and when I restarted wc3 it just sits here taking up 99% of my CPU. So I reinstalled from scratch, the game loaded great under the cd installed version, went to update on battle.net and the same thing happened.

This happen to anybody else?

This is from the Transgaming forum:

After BNET update the game doesn't work
by slick_rick on Tuesday August 13, 8:52AM

I did a fresh install of WC3 after installing winex2.1. WC3 worked great. I patched up to 101b then tried to connect to Battle.net. BNet pulled down a patch and tried to install it. The install failed, and now WC3 won't start.

Does the BNet updater actually work for anyone?

Well, I patched Warcraft to 101b without the automatic Battle.net upgrade system. I used the standalone patch program you can download from Battle.net. I had a pb though... I had to manually add the InstallPath key in [Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III](that I had to create too) of the winex user registry.
I notice that Warcratt III 1.01b is far more long to load than the 1.00 version.
When you use the patch program, there is a log file that you can check to have more details about any error.

Yea I read that. Apparently someone else had my problem (not the one you pasted) and it was because of a problem with WineX reading the game's CD. Sometimes I have to reboot my machine for it to accept it properly. Odd, no?
