|
|
Well, currently I have kde installed and I am using it as my defaut wm.
I'm looking for a WM thats easy to customize and gives pretty good eye candy. I've looked around and it seems that XFCE and E17 are the more popular choices around.
Any suggestions??
Thanks |

E17 is all what you need : easy to customize, good eye candy, very light, and many more !! _________________ There are a lot of lies going around.... and half of them are true.

Honestly, stick with KDE and choose some nice themes, icons etc. Browse the http://www.kde-look.org/ web site.
E17 is wonderful, and beryl can do some fancy things if you have a compatible video card, but both are not exactly stable, and will be hard to set up and keep working. |

Have a look at the Off the Wall forum and search for the Gentoo Monthly Screenshot posts. There you'll find a lot of different WM with their config and you can make up your mind.

Using the live CVS may cause some build fails at occasions, but the environment in a whole is pretty stable, and when it breaks, its fixed pretty fast
If you for whatever reason think E17 is unstable, try E16 which is in portage as stable.
I can't speak about other WM's since I stopped looking when I found E |
