Installing Gnome on new installation for a Gentoo SOLVED

I have installed Gentoo 2006.1 and have X working was installing Gnome using the instructions from Gentoo site using portage emerging file 12 of 275 received error message x11-libs/gtk+-2.10.9 failed it says to re-emerge x11-libs/cairo with the X USE flag set any help would be appreciated thanks

Yeah i got a similar error message, i think i just
emerge cairo

As noted in the handbook USE flags specified via environment variables are not retained as persistent settings so, aside from when a given USE flag setting is itself transient in nature, use one of the persistent USE flag setting methods (/etc/make.conf, /etc/portage/package.use). Also, note that USE flags are case sensitive.
