|
|
Hi,
I'm trying to get thunar-volman to work correctly with xfce 4.4. All the volumes mount with the xfce4-mount-plugin but nothing seems to happen on the desktop or within thunar when I plug in a USB stick or insert a CD. Everything I have read suggests it should work automatically - but it doesn't...
So far I have:
- emerged thunar-volman-0.1.2
- thunar is compiled with plugins, hal and dbus
- hald and dbus are in the default runlevel
- configured udev to put my usb stick in /dev/disgo when I plug it in, which it does
- fstab is set up so that everything I want has a place in /mnt and is user-mountable (so they all work in the mount-plugin panel app)
I rebooted and plugged in a usb stick, but nothing spectacular happened.
Ideally, I'd like my USB stick and cdrom to appear on the desktop and in the thunar sidebar-list when i plug them in. What's the best way of doing this - have I missed a step?

Have you added your user to the "plugdev" group? _________________ Gentoo Hardened Linux 2.6.21 + svorak (Swedish dvorak) |
