im running on a very tight "budget" in terms of disk space. i was wondering if theres a way to set portage so it will delete the distfile, and possible all the temp files it used to build it as soon as it finishes emerging.
thanks

You might be interested in this if you want to remove the unused distfiles.

About the temp files, they should get cleaned if the emerge completes succesfully.

thats not really what i was looking for. i remove all my distfiles all the time, to save diskspace, but i still cant do long emerges of 30 packages. i want them deleted as soon as that ebuild finishes emerging, to make space for the next. and i dont know what temp files you are refferring to, but theres usuallly a lot of shit in /var/tmp/portage/ after a bunch of emerges.

Exactly. If the emerge completes succesfully it should contain only dirs and empty files, so no space wasted.
