Hello all,

I'm a owner of a laptop with an ATI Radeon Mobility 7500. I've been using kernel drivers for long. However, I would like to know the experience of those from the other side which are using the ati binary drivers. Are they good? Have you had any problems? Should I switch?

These questions arose because I thought about it for 5 seconds. Although the kernel drivers are open and all the binary drivers should be much better than the kernel ones mainly because they were made by the same guys who developed the hardware so I should get a much better performance with them than with the kernel ones. Is this reasoning flawed?

I would appreciate comments on this.

Regards,

Paulo Matos

Since fglrx doesn't support anything less than the 9600 there really no point spending much thought on this.
