SlixPC MPC51C1 hangs before init

as i don't have a clue what driver i'm missing i've tried them all at once but no success... the manual and/or website doesn't provide any good information on what HD Controller is used. i managed to boot it once but i don't have a clue how/why it booted. the system hangs just before init.

i've tried the ck-sources(preferred) and gentoo-sources but without luck.

config:

P4 2.4GHz, 512MB 333MHz DDR RAM, 80GB WD in the box mentioned in the topic. This with Gentoo 1.4_rc4.

all clues, suggestions and tips are all welcome.
