When I try to boot the install cd for gentoo I get this string of erros
Code:

>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hda
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hda1
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hdc
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hdc1
>> No bootable medium found. Waiting for new devices...
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hda
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hda1
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hdc
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hdc1
>> Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hda

!!Could not find CD to boot, something else is needed!

   please spacify a device to boot, or "shell" for a shell...

And I dunno what to do from there, anyone know whats up?


EDIT: My specs
Core2Duo E6600
Motherboard is a Gigabyte 965P-S3
IDE CD and DVD Rom Drives
2 SATA Hard drives

If you have a Core 2 Duo motherboard (and there is another, I believe), it has the JMicron IDE chipset which isn't supported by the 2.6.17 kernel on the LiveCD.

Have a look at the thread Gentoo 2006.1 livecd with JMicron-Support (JMB363/361/36x) and kernelOfTruth's web site http://www.kernel-of-truth.net/downloads_kOT.html where you can find a 64-bit LiveCD as well.

Yeah, without the KOK LiveCD you will not be able to install Gentoo....
