Just look through the setting?
When i change opacity of some windows, ist is permanent, no matter what i do else.

Maybe you are interested in opacify plugin in accesibility..

you can change the opacity settings with the beryl settings manager. choose the tab "window management". then choose "set window attrib by various criteria". now you will see at the right different settings, the first one being window opacity. when you open this, you can create different rules by clicking on the "+".

my settings:
Code:
w:Normal:70
c:Gnome-panel:65
c:Mplayer:100
n:Gimp:100
n:Inkscape:100
n:Totem:100

all windows are now 70% translucent, except (for obvious reasons) mplayer, the gimp, inkscape and totem. although it is very funny to watch a movie with your wallpaper fading through the images, it is not really the best film experience ;-)

The Trailfocus plugin lets you set the translucency of the last few windows you've used - you could use that to set the translucency of the current one to 70% or something.
