I am not sure where to put his post so I will start here.
I updated baselayout and my kernel and everything seems fine except for one error. I have an officejet printer and used the drivers from hpoj.sourceforge.net.
The script ptal-init is started at boot. This was working fine until the update. Now I get
[rc-scripts] ERROR: "/etc/init.d/ptal-init" has syntax errors in it; not executing...
The strange thing is that when I start this from the command line after boot it starts fine without any errors.
I have removed it using rc-update and added it again to no avail.
Any suggestions? |

I know you posted this awhile ago, but I ran across the same error with my new printer. Deleting the link to the ptal-init script and replacing it with a copy in /runlevels/boot/ fixed the problem here. |
