Anyone else have this problem?

I've tried re-emerging the gimp and cups and everything that seemed remotely related. It seems like it's not recognizing the proper version of the gimp or something.

Code:

bash-2.05b# gimptool --version
1.2.3

bash-2.05b# emerge -u gimp-print
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) media-gfx/gimp-print-4.2.4 to /
>>> md5 ;-) gimp-print-4.2.4.tar.gz
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking gimp-print-4.2.4.tar.gz
>>> Source unpacked.

checking for gimptool... /usr/bin/gimptool
checking for GIMP - version >= 1.2.0... no

I should have been more clear maybe. I have the gimp installed and it works fine. As you can see from the gimptoop output it is version 1.2.3 (r3).

I have the same problem. I have gimp installed, gimptool runs fine from cli, yet the emerge of gimp-print fails in the same way.

update: fixed on mine. I had installed filmgimp, not from portage (a long time ago) from sources, and forgotten about it. I unmerged all versions of gimp, and manually removed the old filmgimp libraries and binaries (and everything else), then remerge- presto! it works now.
maybe you should unmerge gimp &c., then see if you have any other libs/bins lurking around?
